AcuraWatch™ Standard Features

No matter which Acura model you land on, AcuraWatch™ remains a standard. With it comes a collection of seven key safety technologies that’ll intuitively keep an eye on all the parts of the road that you can’t see.

So, let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from the AcuraWatch™ suite:

• Collision Mitigation Braking System™—Utilizing both a forward-facing camera and a radar transmitter, the CMBS™ watches for objects in front of your Acura, determining the distance and closing speed in between you and a collision. If it detects something too close, it’ll send you a warning to brake or can even automatically brake for you.

• Advanced Pedestrian Detection—As part of the CMBS™, this system sends an audible alert and flashing light from your Multi-Information Display when it detects a pedestrian ahead of you.

• Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow—Adaptive Cruise Control helps you create a maintainable speed and set an interval between the car detected ahead. You can set a speed anywhere between 25 to 90 MPH right from your steering wheel.

• Lane Keeping Assist System—With the help of a forward-facing camera mounted above the rearview mirror, this system helps establish the position of your Acura within a detected highway lane. If it feels you start to sway out of the lane, it will apply light steering torque and guide you back to the center of the lane.
• Road Departure Mitigation System—Working together with the Lane Keeping Assist system, Road Departure Mitigation identifies lane markers to determine when your Acura is starting to drift off the road. It too will apply gentle steering torque to keep you on the road
• Traffic Jam Assist—To help you maintain your position in heavy traffic, this system aids with low-speed steering and identifies vehicles ahead to bring you to a full stop if necessary.
• Traffic Sign Recognition—Using a mounted camera, the Traffic Sign Recognition system detects various road signs, like speed-limit signs, and displays them right on your driver information display or available head-up display.

Additional Acura Safety Technology

Under the umbrella of the AcuraWatch™ safety suite comes both a Forward Collision Warning System and Lane Departure Warning System. Like the other features of AcuraWatch™, these warning systems will send alerts right to your dashboard information display.

There’s also plenty of additional safety tech in each Acura model, such as the Blind Spot Information System and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor. These two systems will work together to help you see everything on either side and behind your Acura.

Finally, to help add some ease to any parking situation, each Acura also comes with features like a Multi-View Rear Camera, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, and even an available Surround-View Camera System.
