Interior Design & Amenities
The 2018 Acura TLX has a sophisticated-looking interior, with standard leatherette-trimmed sports seats, and available perforated Milano premium leather-trimmed sport seats. The 2018 Honda Accord comes standard with cloth seats and has available leather-trimmed seating. So, while it’s still a nice-looking car, the cabin isn’t as refined at the one in the TLX.
Plus, the Acura TLX offers lots of amenities, to help keep everyone on board comfortable. It comes standard with heated front seats, and has available ventilated front seats, as well as a heated steering wheel. The Honda Accord, on the other hand, doesn’t come standard with heated seats. It also doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel in any of its trim levels.
Each vehicle offers plenty of high-tech features, to help keep passengers connected and entertained. They both come standard with Pandora® compatibility, along with Bluetooth® technology to stream audio or make hands-free phone calls.
The TLX also comes standard with SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, which gives you over 150 channels of commercial-free music, along with sports, news, comedy, and more. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, as well. These features let you connect your compatible smartphone to the vehicle to easily access your text messages, navigation, music playlists, and more.
The Accord offers SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, Apple CarPlay™, and Android Auto™, too, but none of them come standard.
The 2018 TLX has two engine options with the kind of power you need to easily zoom down the highway…
- 4L 4-cylinder: 206 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque
- 5L V6: 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque
The 2018 Accord also has two engine options, but they’re a little less powerful than the competing model…
- 5L 4-cylinder: 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque
- 0L 4-cylinder: 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque
The Acura TLX also offers a Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ system. It not only distributes power from front to rear, but it’ll also allocate rear power from side to side to help the vehicle rotate into a turn. This will make it easier to handle all types of road conditions.
Unfortunately, the Honda Accord doesn’t offer an all-wheel drive system in any of its trim levels.
2018 TLX vs 2018 Accord: Verdict
The Honda Accord is no doubt an impressive sedan. However, the Acura TLX offers more features and a more powerful performance. But to help decide if it’s right for you, you’ll need to check the car out in person.
